Overview
Katherine “Kat” Monroe is the protagonist of American Futa: A Modern Western Saga (public copy: age twenty-three when the story starts). She buries her father and inherits a state-scale ranch, a $48M / 90-day tax crunch, and a body/lineage the old families disdain—her mother was a futa the patriarch married in daylight rather than as cartel stock. Kat is determined not to be priced. She revives Skyline, proclaims the Monroe Sanctuary, and pulls Sable Vale out of Red Hollow’s control in public. The Season Ledger (per blurb) turns nights into grazing rights, votes, and cash; Brooke and Quinn run parts of the machine as she fights the cartel and the valley’s old rules. Her brother Cole’s feelings for Sable complicate the crucible further.
